Funeral services for Keith Weldon Blacketer, 79, of Pittsburg will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Oglesby officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2023, at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery in Rockwall. Arrangements will be under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. He passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in a Tyler hospital.
Keith was born June 20, 1943, in Dallas to John Harold and Corma Watkins Blacketer. He was a retired manager of drapery supply company and a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church.
He is preceded by his parents and his brother, David Cleon Blacketer.
Keith is survived by his brother, Gerald Blacketer and wife, Talitha of Pittsburg. He is also survived by his nephews, Kevin Blacketer and wife, Anne Marie, and Brian Blacketer and his niece, Dawn Moore and husband, Bruce. In addition, he is survived by his great-nephew, Jackson Blacketer, and his great-nieces, Bess Blacketer Cianciosi and husband, Matt, and Cailey Knighton. Mr. Blacketer is also survived by his special friends Jeff and Suzanne Prescott and Cheryl Russo.
Keith was a graduate of Adamson High School in Dallas and the University of Texas Arlington.
Keith’s passion was sacred music. He served as a minister of music, choir director and soloist in various churches in the Dallas area.
Keith lived most of his life in the Dallas area but moved to Pittsburg in his later years to be closer to family.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
