Barbara Dykes Obituary

Barbara Dykes, 64, of Leesburg, Texas, was born December 12, 1958, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Richard E. Hagan and Ruth Dale Chevalier Hagan and passed away on January 13, 2023.

Mrs. Dykes was a member of the Pine View Baptist Church.  She had a servant’s heart which was shown in how she always put others before herself. Barbara never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation at lengths with someone she had just met. She had a strong military background where her father, husband, brothers, and son all served, which is where her warrior attitude came from, and manifested by her battle with rheumatoid arthritis the past ten years.  With all of these fine attributes, her most precious of them all was her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Perry Dykes; son, Jeremy Dykes; daughter, Lynzie Henry and her husband Justin; grandchildren, Jake and Adalyn; brothers, Steve Eiland, Mark Hagan, Frank Hagan, and Rick Hagan; and numerous other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 20, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Officiating the service will be Ronny Spence.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation 8815 Conroy Windermere Rd. Suite 309 Orlando, Fl. 32835.  www.helpfightra.org.
